第49話 パパも親の子 Granny Tanny

冒頭より、

Mi: Stephanie, help!
St: Uh, tie your shoes again? This is getting old.
You are gonna learn to tie your shoes all by yourself. Okay?
Mi: All right.
St: Now, pay very close attention. First, the rabbit crosses the stream,
and then he goes over the log, and around the tree, and through the hole,
and voila. You've got rabbit ears. Now can you get the other one tied?
Mi: No problem. Joey, help!
St: Kids today, they have it way too easy.

歌の後

Mi: Good morning. Look alive.
Je: Michelle, it's too early to be alive. What do you want?
Mi: Grandma comes today.
Je: Yes, Grandma comes today. Thanks for the bulletin.
Now, go back in your crib and go.. Who let you out of your crib?
Mi: I let me out.
Je: You mean you climbed all the bars and jumped down all by yourself?
Mi: You got it, dude.
Je: Jailbreak. Danny, Michelle.. Michelle, come here. Come here.
Now, you know how it works in this house. If you wanna get out of your crib,
you stay there and scream your head off until someone let you out. Coppish?
Mi: No coppish. I'm a big girl.
Da: Jesse, it's Saturday morning.
Je: Don't tell me. Tell her. She climbed out of her crib all by herself.
Da: You did? Oh, you know what this means, you little spider baby?
You are ready for your very own big-girl bed.
Je: Your very own big-girl bed. Big-girl five. Alright.
DJ: Hey, Dad. Grandma's cab just pulled up.
Da: Grandma's here early. Let's go.
Mi: Granny Tanny.
Je: Coming, Claire.
Da: We'll be right there, mom.
Je: Here we come.
Da: Grandma.
DJ: Here, grandma.
St: Let's go...
Jo: Boy, this family does everything together.
Cl: Here's Granny.
DJ: Grandma.
Je: Hey.
Cl: Kiss me, you fools.(?)
DJ: Hi, Grandma.
Je: Good to see you.
Da: I'll get your bag.
Cl: My baby.
Da: My mommy.
Cl: Oh, look. I got lipstick ********. Here. Let me get that, honey. Stay still.
Da; OK, mom.
Cl: I couldn't wait to get here. I am so pumped.
Well, look at this. Who is this big girl right here?
Mi: Michelle Tanner.
Cl: You are way too big to be Michelle Tanner.
Mi: It's me. It's my nose.
St: Grandma, come sit over here.
Cl: OK.
St: We've got a big surprise for you. Daddy, can I give her the present now?
Da: Well, after that, it will be cruel not to.
DJ: Here grandma.
Cl: Oh, you didn't have to get me anything. What's inside?
Da: In honor of your retirement after thirty years in the stationery-supply business.
Jo: Happy golden years, Claire.
Ev: Yeah.
DJ: Alright.
Cl: Golden years, huh? Oh, boy.
DJ: What's the matter? You don't like your gift?
Cl: Oh, no, my sweetheart. I love it. It's beautiful.
I'm gonna take it down to the park and paint pictures of other retired people
who are painting pictures of me.
Jo: I knew we should've bought perfume.
Cl: Honey, no. I'm sorry. I just thought, well, now that I'm divorced, and my kids
have grown up, and I'm retired. My life went from "Get up and go!" to "Why get up?"
Da: Oh, don't worry mom. You're gonna find something fun to do with your time.

Cl: I've got a little butter left. Who wants more pancakes?
Ev: Oh..
Cl: Well, that is music to our grandmother's ears. No, no, sit down, everybody.
Come on, sit, sit sit. I'm gonna do the dishes.
Da: Mom, we'll do the dishes. Why don't you take Michelle upstairs and settle her in.
Cl: It is so nice to feel wanted. OK, come on, my sweet angel, Here we go.
The rest of you guys, hang tight, because lunch is not far away.
Ev: Oh..
Je: Alright, come on, everybody. Let's clean the dishes.
Da: Guys, do me a favor. Stop cleaning. Just let this mess sit right here.
DJ: Dad, are you feeling OK?
Da: Yes. Did you see how my mom was cheered up? She loves taking care of us.
I'd say we spend the weekend trying to make her feel like we really need her,
like we can't get along without her.
DJ: But we really can.
Da: But we make it look like we can't.
St: You want us to lie? Daddy, I'm shocked.
Da: No, honey, I don't want you to lie. I want you to.. uh.. make believe.
Let's all make believe that we're just too busy to cook, clean,
    and take care of girls.
St: I don't get it.
DJ: Let me see if I get it. In order to help Grandma, you want us to make believe
    we can't clean our room?
Da: Exactly.
St: I still don't..
DJ: Make believe you get it.
Je: If it'd help your mom, I'm happy to do what I can.
Come on, Joseph, let's go trash the living room.
Jo: Yeah. Let's trash it really good.
Da: Guys, please, trash it neatly.
JJ: Alright.
Cl: Danny, I've never seen you leave a mess this long.
Da; Well, you know how it is. Jesse and Joey got a work, and I've got errands to run,
and, well, you know, sometimes it's just hard to keep up.
St: Yeah. Wait till you see how messy our room's gonna be.
DJ: Isn't she an air head?
Cl: Come on, honey. Do what you have to do. I'm gonna clean the house this morning,
and then I'll spend the afternoon with my granddaughters.
Da: Oh, you're the best, Mom.
Cl: Thanks.
Da: Oh, Mom, one more thing. I've got to pick out a new bed for Michele.
    You got any ideas?
Cl: Oh, yes. Let me pick it out.
Da: You are the boss.
Cl: You are the best boy.
Da: You are the best mom.
Cl: No, you are.
Da: You are.
Cl: No, I love you.
Da: I love you.
Cl: Not as much as I love you.
Da: I love you more.
Cl: I bet you don't.
Da: I do. it's true.

Cl: We're back from the zoo.
St: Thanks, Grandma. I thought I had fun before,
but now I know how much fun fun can really be.
Cl: Oh, you sweet thing/sweetie. My pleasure.
Oh, good! They delivered the bed. It looks terrific.
Da: Oh, and it's a great choice, Mom.
Jo: No one picks out a pencil bed quite like you, Claire.
Je: Yeah. It's got that grandma touch.
Cl: Well, let's hope Michelle likes it. DJ, bring her in.
Mi: My big-girl bed.
Je: Whoa, whoa,.. You little jumping bean.
Give your grandma a kiss for buying you a new trampoline.
Mi: Thank you, Granny Tanny.
Cl: I am in grandma heaven. Come on, you guys.
I am gonna cook you such a dinner you're gonna think it is Thanksgiving.
Ev: Oh.. Oh, Alright.
Je: Alright, little munchkin. You enjoy your new bed,
but no more jumping up and down, OK?
Mi: OK, Uncle Jesse.
Je: Alright.
Mi: Hello.
Je: Were you jumping up and down on the bed, young lady?
Mi: Who, Me?
Je: (Tell) the truth, or I'm gonna tickle all out of ya..
Cl: Here you go.
St: Good. I can't remember when I had a meal with so much delicious food.
DJ: I can. It was lunch.
Cl: Danny, how did you like your Brussels sprouts.
Da: Oh, Mom, steamed to perfection as usual. Here. You eat, Michelle.
Mi: Yuck.
Cl: Did you boys write any commecials today?
Je: Yes. Jo: No.
Je: No. Jo: Yes.
Je: Uh, well, the point is, Claire, we couldn't've done anything without you.
Cl: Oh, thanks, honey. Hey, I'm glad to help out.
In fact, if you want me to stay a little longer, I'm available.
Jo: Hey, that's a great idea. I mean, why rush back home?
Je: Yeah, and hey, you're making our life a breeze, Claire.
JJ: Claire.
Da: The guys are right, mom. I don't know how we'd survive without you.
Cl: You really mean it?
Ev: Yes.
Da: We're all happy to be with you.
Cl: Well, if you guys really need me that much.
I guess the only logical thing would be for me to move in.
Da: Move in? Here?
Cl: Yeah, sure. Honey, that would be.. Listen, Joey and Jesse, you guys are
young and you're single, and you've devoted two years of your lives raising
this family. Now here's your big opportunity. You can move out and get
on with your own lives. Because Grandma is moving in for good

St: DJ, do you remember when I was sleeping in the crib?
DJ: Yeah, life was so easy when you were behind bars.
Da: Good news, girls. Your grandma's gonna move into an apartment in the neighborhood.
DJ: Really? That's great!
St: Wonderful! All right!
DJ: So, is everything okay between you two?
Da: Oh, everything is great. I never have to eat Brussels sprouts again.
I want you guys to know that I was wrong asking you to lie,
even though I was trying to make grandma feel better.
St: Well, I hope you learned your lesson.
Da: Oh, I did. You know, if you'd ever do things to try make me feel better,
I'd much rather you just tell me the truth. Okay?
DS: Okay.
Da: Okay, thanks. Good night.
DJ: Good night, dad.
St: Good night.
DJ: Oh, wait, dad. Just a minute. I thought of something.
Da: Already?
DJ: Yeah, I don't really love cleaning as much as you think I do.
St: Neither do I.
Da: You don't?
DJ: No, especially scrubbing the grout in the shower.
    It's incredibly totally disgusting.
Da: Well, it isn't acquired taste.
St: And, I only asked Santa for a Dustbuster, because I knew you'd be proud of me.
I can't believe he actually brought me one.
Da: Oh, Dustbuster is a very practicable gift that..
DJ: Dad, *******
