第20話 ジェシー、カムバック!<前編> 原題:The Seven-Month Itch (1)

冒頭より

Je: Samantha, I promise this is gonna be the most romantic weekend of your life.
We'll have a little chateaubriand, a little Dom Perignon.
Yes, and for dessert, an empty house.
Ha, ha, ha, ha. You know, the family is going away to Disneyland, you know. Two points.
Well, they're leaving in three minutes, so if you leave now, make all the lights,
you'll be here in four minutes, and two minutes after that,
you and I will be in each other's arms, gazing into each other's eyes,
doing a little thing, I'd like to call..
St: Uncle Jesse.
Je: The hoeky-pokey. Good-bye, and I'll ring. What is it, kid?
St: I'm going to Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland..
Je: All right.
St: Disneyland, Disneyland... Come on everybody,
we are going to be late for Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland..
Je: Stephanie.., hold it.
St: Yeah?
Je: Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
All right, take a deep breath now, relax, inhale, exhale.
    Very good. Are you OK?
St: I'm fine.
Je: Good.
St: Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland. Why aren't we at Disneyland?
Da: Steph, Steph, calm down.
St: Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland..
Let's go, let's go, let's go. Come on.
Jo: I think you need to switch the kid to decaf.
Da: Steph, the plane won't leave any earlier,
just because we're the first ones on it.
St: If we are the first ones on, we'll be the first ones off.
And the first ones in line for the Matterhorn.
Jo: Matterhorn? Then we've gotta go ho-ho..
St: DJ, tell me again how it's gonna be.
DJ: Well, Disneyland has the greatest rides. While you're standing in line,
Mickey and Minnie mouse come up and play with you.
St: No. What're we yakking about? We could be there. Come on, let's go.
Da: Joey, open the door before she goes through it.
Je: Yes, Stephanie's right, Tinker Bell's waiting.
Come on, everyone. Let's get down, let's go.
St: Yeah, let's get out.
Je: Right. Here you go. We're leaving. Everyone's going.
Da: Jesse, are you sure you don't want to come along with us?
Je: Are you kidding, no, no, no. Who's gonna pick up the mail,
who's gonna get the newspaper, who'll feed the dog?
Jo: Uh.. Jess, we don't have a dog.
Je: Well, just because it's not our dog, it doesn't mean we shouldn't feed him.
St: Uncle Jesse, I really wish you were coming along.
But if we don't leave soon, I'm gonna go bananas.
Je: She's right. Any minute, Ban! Bananas. Let's go, everyone.
Hi ho, Hi ho. Ba la la la la,
Ev: Ba la la la la..
Je: They are going to the Disneyland. Yes.

飛行機が飛ばなくて帰宅したところ。

Da: OK, let's go. Come on, Steph.
DJ: Missing Disneyland isn't the end of the world.
Jo: Hey, you know, airplanes can't fly when it's foggy.
St: I hate fog. Birds can fly in fog, we should have taken a bird.
Da: Steph, I promise, we'll go to Disneyland another time.
DJ: Yeah, it was Michelle's first time, too. Look how well she's taking it.
St: What does she know? She puts her food up her nose.
Da: Steph, I'll tell you what. I've got a great idea.
We're gonna make tonight family fun night, right here at home.
Jo: Hey, what could be more fun than that?
St: I'll tell you what.
Something that starts with a 'D' and ends with a 'land'.
Da: These disappointments are really tough on a six-year-old.
Jo: I still can't believe we miss Captain EO.

ジェシーが自分の部屋に入り、ギターをベッドに放り投げるところから。

Jo: Hey, Jess. What's going on?
Je: I don't know... Joey, every time I come to this room,
it seems like there's more pink bunnies on the wall.
Jo: Well, you know how rabbits are.
Je: Joey, sit down a second.
Jo: Sure.
Je: Joseph, I kind of talk to you man-to.. No, man-to-you.
Jo: Sure, buddy.
Hey, you look a little down.
Look. I'm sorry if we wrecked your night with Samantha.
Je: No, it's not just Samantha, it's..
    Just be honest with me.
Doesn't living here get to you sometimes?
Jo: No.
Je: Never?
Jo: Never. I love it.
Je: You mean to tell me you love changing diapers, making school lunches,
chasing the girls all around town, changing diapers,
helping them with their homework, picking up their toys?
    Did I mention changing diapers?
Jo: Some of those tasks are more rewarding than others.
Je: Alright.. Why? Why, Jo, why are you happy here?
Jo: Well, Jess. I think it's because when I was growing up,
I didn't have brothers and sisters, and...
I like being part of the big family.
I like having people to care about. That includes you.
Je: Thank you.
Jo: And besides, this is the only place I've ever lived that
always has ice cream in the freezer.
Je: Pass.
Joey, don't you ever ask yourself, "What am I doing?"
I think.. I used to be this freewheeling, living-on-the-edge,
    no-strings kind of guy.
Now... now it seems like I'm... I'm married here or something.
I mean I have all the responsibilities and hassles of three kids,
yet I can't even deduct'em from my taxes.
Jo: Well, technically you could if you married Danny.
Je: Joey, do you realize every night I sleep here, I sleep alone.
Jo: Wanna get bunk beds?
Je: Oh.. I don't.
Joey, I'm pouring my heart out here to you, and you're making jokes.
Jo: I know. I'm sorry. Alright. Talk to me.
Je: Ah.. I don't know. I..
I guess it's just this whole situation. It's just getting to me.
I mean, I have zero privacy.
I.. I try to write my music and I have all this distraction.
    See, I write music.
I write it out of my own life experiences, you know.
My last three songs have been about changing diapers,
    the measles and tub toys.
Jo: I thought that tub toys song was very danceable.
Je: I just feel like I have things to accomplish in my life, you know.
I mean if things that I wanna do and these things I wanna experience and
I don't know, but mayb'.. maybe living here's holding me back.
I don't know what the hell has happened in my life, pal,
but I've got to regain control of it.
Jo: Hey, Jess. Look at the bright side.
If you hadn't moved in here, we would never be as close as we are.
Je: I know.
Jo: Hey. Sleep on it.
Je: Hey.. Thank you, my friend.

Sa: Jesse?
Je: Samantha?
Sa: Jesse?
Je: Sam, what are you doing here?
Sa: I just wanted to see you.
Je: You shouldn't be in here. Everybody's home.
DJ: Uncle Jesse, will you help me with my homework?
Je: DJ! It's the middle of the night.
DJ: But the closer I study to my test, the less I forget.
St: Uncle Jesse, will you give me a piggyback ride?
Je: Uncle Jesse doesn't wanna give you a piggyback ride.
St: Yes, he does.
Je: No, he doesn't.
St: Yes, he does.
Je: No, he doesn't.
St: YES, HE DOES.
Mi: Uncle Jesse, change my diaper.
Je: You can't talk.
Mi: If you don't know, they have cooled your heels.(?)
Je: Girls, you gotta go. Come on. Everyone, off to bed.
    Let's go. Come on.
Oh, good guys. OK, great. Take over from me.
Jo: It's your turn.
Da: You're their uncle.
Sa: We could be so happy.
Je: Everybody, out. Everybody, go. Come on. Let's go.
Everyone, go, go, go, go... Hold it. You. You can stay.
DS: Uncle Jesse.
DJ: Help me with my homework.
St: I want a piggyback ride.
Jo: Jesse, it's your turn.
Da: You're their uncle.
Sa: We could be so happy.
Mi: Change me. Feed me. Change me. Feed me. Feed me.
Change me. Feed me. Change me. Feed me. Change me. Feed me.
Je: Oh, my god. There's two Michelles. They're multiplying!
Je: No! I can't take it anymore. I gotta get out of this house.

Jo: Jess, wake up. Rise and shine. Come on. Let's go. Get up.
Da: Guys, I didn't wanna wake anybody up, so I left this note.
I need to get away for a while. I don't know where I'm going,
I don't know when I'll be back, or even if I will be back.
I don't think it's working out for me here. I'll call soon.
Tell the girls I love them. Jesse.
Je: Jesse ran away from home?
St: I'm hungry.
DJ: Where's uncle Jesse?
